Michigan Made Riesling Wine Won International Top Spot
The Traverse City Record-Eagle reports that Michigan's own Black Star Farm has won an international award for their 2017 Arcturos Dry Riesling.
The international competition took place earlier this month in Canberra, Australia, at the Canberra International Riesling Challenge. The Record-Eagle says local winery won "Best Riesling" out of the 567 Rieslings that were in the competition, from around the world.
According to the Traverse City Record-Eagle,
The 2017 Arcturos Dry Riesling scored 98 points and beat out other Rieslings from the US, Australia, New Zealand, France and the Czech Republic. It also took home Best Dry Riesling and Best American Riesling.
The Record-Eagle says Black Star Farms, which is celebrating 20 years of winemaking this year grabbed a few more awards as well, including:
- 2016 Arcturos Winter Harvest Riesling - Elite Gold
- 2017 Arcturos Semi-Dry Riesling - Gold
The article says three more wines from Black Star won as well.
