Monolith Appears In Kentwood At Corner Of Broadmoor And 36th

Almost a month ago, a monolith was discovered in the desert of Utah and no one knew where it came from or how it got there. Then, monoliths started to appear all around the world and just recently we started to learn about where they came from.

No, the monoliths weren't surrounded by apes like in 2001 A Space Odyssey, and no they weren't from aliens. The original monolith and a couple of the others were made by an artist collective and eventually spawned the copycats all over the world.

Well, now we have our very own monolith in our backyard. This one popped up at the corner of 36th Street of Broadmoor on Wednesday morning.

In the interview with Wood TV 8, Allan Hernandez was at the stoplight and saw something unusual "I glanced over to my left and I saw a truck... next to it was a tractor, like one of those bobcat tractors that moves heavy objects. And on it, like leaning against it, was this silver pillar. And I know lately, monoliths has been like a craze. And I thought, no way then, like what? Is this really happening?"

So, we know that this monolith is not the result of aliens, but instead is more likely an art installation from local artists. But, as of right now, we don't know who placed it.

This isn't the first monolith to appear in Michigan. WILX reported on December 8th that a monolith was installed in Lansing.
