Perhaps daringly but, not without advisement, actor Jussie Smollett and singer of the new single "Ha Ha, I Love You" declined security entourage from Parent company Fox (Empire) in Chicago after they received the threatening letters a week before Smollett's now brutal attack.

TMZ reports that Smollett thought that having extra security during off hours was an "intrusive way of living".

It's unclear at this time if the letters are connected to the attack on Smollett. He's reported to be in "good" condition.
