Considering how many animal lovers and dog owners there are in West Michigan I'm surprised that Muskegon didn't have already have a public dog park, but that's changing this weekend!

The Downtown Muskegon Petsafe Bark Park will have its grand opening Saturday, May 12th and everyone (plus their dogs) are invited! The event starts at 10 a.m. with a dedication and according to Visit Muskegon people and their dogs can check out the following:

  • Mobile Dog Grooming Salon
  • Pet Bakery
  • Muskegon Kennel Club (on-site microchipping for $15)
  • Photo sessions for human and dog
  • Plus giveaways, information & coupons

The Petsafe Bark Park is .7 acres with a separated section for small and big dogs, a doggie drinking fountain, picnic tables, obstacle courses, dog grooming area, etc.

You can stay up-to-date on their Facebook page.
