Muskegon Man Jailed For Not Shipping Masks to Customers

Now is not the time to take people's money who purchased protective masks and rip them off. Now this Muskegon man is looking at federal charges.

According to WOOD, Rodney Stevenson II lives in Muskegon, Michigan, but he has been collecting money from people in California for N95 masks they purchased but he never shipped them.

U.S. attorneys in Michigan and California are both working together to put a stop to Stevenson's scam.

24-year-old Stevenson put together a company called EM General, LLC before there was a pandemic back in September of 2019. He was selling N95 masks online and charging an arm and a leg for them.

The real problem was, he was selling them, but didn't actually have any masks. Customers would reach out and he would say they have been shipped. He ripped one customer off who spent $400 on a purchase by sending that person a box of cloth masks instead of N95s.

Stevenson has not only not delivered the goods he promised others but made up stories about other portions of his company including a fake CEO and management team.

Stevenson is looking at 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine.
