Muskegon’s Dune Harbor County Park Now Open
The lakeshore is getting a little more gorgeous with the opening of Muskegon County's Dune Harbor Park!
Muskegon's Dune Harbor Park
The Muskegon County Parks Department’s latest acquisition, Dune Harbor County Park, is now open. The new park is the from the former Nugent Sand property in the City of Norton Shores, MI.
A local lakeshore realtor took to youtube to show off what the park looks like this week. Check that out below.
The 377-acre former Nugent Sand property is one of the largest, most unique natural landscapes in the area. The former sand mine features hilly forested dunes, two large manmade lakes, and a stretch of beautiful Lake Michigan beach.
A temporary entrance for Dune Harbor County Park is located at Lincoln Street and Leif Avenue in Norton Shores. If driving to the park, visitors should park on side streets, not Lincoln Street, and do not block driveways. The Park is open from dawn until dusk. At this time only the park is only in Phase I, so only the Southern Lake portion of the property is open to the public.
If you'd like to volunteer to help out at the new park or just want to stay up to date with what's going on there, Muskegon County has a Stay in Touch Newsletter you can sign up for here.
