It's hard to undermine the resume of Nasir Jones. With a plethora of classics sitting nicely on his catalog including Illmatic and Stillmatic, Nas has proven that just like fine wine, the brother ages well with time. This past weekend, he was honored for his legendary career in Miami at the 2016 REVOLT Music Conference.

On Saturday, Diddy presented Nas with the 2016 Jimmy Iovine Icon Award for his lofty contributions to hip hop. During his heartfelt speech, he referred to Nas as "true example of Black excellence."  Diddy dug deep and spoke on Nas' magnum opus, Illmatic, his slew of accomplishments, and why his 2004 record, "Bridging the Gap" with his father, played an integral role in maintaining the black experience.

"We've all been thru serious trying times," Nas wrote on his Instagram. "So to see these men standing strong for so many years and getting stronger by the day...its inspiration. It's encouragement. And empowering. @andreharrell u started all this. Legitimate street corner executive waves, this is what u started. Salute to you King. We continue to lift each other up. Thank you @stevestoute for saving my life! For finding me and helping me find myself. Your words last night was Crazy."

"@iamdiddy thanks for the friendship. For being my brother. We're two crazy mfa's who somehow figured it out for ourselves. But you are a Leader that we ALL learned from! Truly humbled by the Honor King. The future is ours. Let's continue to pave the way. Love," Nas added.
