So as we talk about a COVID-19 vaccine, did you realize that Michigan, more specifically, Southwest Michigan, is about to be front and center in the distribution of one of the vaccines?

CNBC’s Frank Holland did a report on the new vaccines and how they’ll be distributed around the county. Pfizer is a leader as one of the vaccines for the country and world and reports that the COVID-19 vaccines will be packed in boxes with 1,000 doses and 50 lbs of dry ice and will be shipped around the world from the Kalamazoo plant.

The vaccines will then be delivered by one of the big three package handlers, UPS, FedEx, or DHL, and then will be trucked or flown to their destination.

It’s pretty impressive that our side of Michigan and a town very close to us will be such a vital part of the efforts to get our country and world vaccinated against the global pandemic which is COVID-19.

Three vaccines are leading the way currently one from AstraZeneca, Pfizer, and Moderna. Each vaccine claims to need two doses to be effective and will need to be kept cold until they’re distributed.

Currently, according to Business Insider, all three have submitted for FDA Emergency Authorization, while Pfizer has authorization from the U.K., and AstraZeneca has submitted authorization globally

Of course, the city that was the home to Gibson Guitars and Checker Cabs would be leading the charge to save the world with the COVID-19 vaccine.
