Over 164,000 Pounds Of Jennie-O Ground Turkey Recalled
The Jennie-O Turkey Company is recalling almost 164,000 pounds of ground Turkey over fear of Salmonella, according to WOODTV.
In November the USDA started investigating a salmonella outbreak where 216 people in 38 different states got sick. That led to the Jennie-O recall, WOODTV reports.
WOODTV says the turkey being recalled includes plain ground turkey and turkey with taco and/or Italian seasoning. It will also have a USE OR FREEZE BY date of Nov. 12 or 13th. Officials are worried that people may still have the turkey meat in their freezers and use it over the holidays.
The recalled product have the tag P-579 marked on the lower left corner of the front packaging, WOODTV says.
If you do have any of the affected meat, don't eat it. Throw it away, or take it back to where it was purchased and then show them this article so they'll take it back. (they will probably take it back without having to show the article, but sharing is caring.)
