Polar Vortex May Have Killed Off Most Of The Stink Bugs
I decided I am only going to write about the good things this craptastic winter weather brings, and here's one: the frigid temps may have killed off most of those annoying stink bugs.
The ugly little bugs had been expanding their range into Michigan recently. But maybe not any more.
It's not clear if this will get rid of the bugs for good, but according to the Washington Post back in 2014, researchers at Virginia Tech University found that extreme cold killed off 95 percent of the stink bug population that couldn't find shelter.
Virginia Tech researchers say that includes the 95 percent of the stink bug population that couldn't find shelter.
Good riddance to those stupid bugs. They were dumb as a brick and equally as annoying. The sad truth is they are remarkably resilient and will slowly rebuild their numbers, but it will take them a few years to do that.
The bad news is that other bad bugs like mosquitoes, bed bugs and cockroaches will all survive the cold just fine.
