Post Malone Performs “Rockstar,” Joins Red Hot Chili Peppers at 2019 Grammy Awards
Post Malone flexed his rockstar status at the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday night (Feb. 10). Accompanied by his trusty guitar, he opened his set with an acoustic rendition of "Stay," followed by an electrifying take on his No. 1, 21-Savage-assisted anthem “Rockstar." Unfortunately, 21 was not in attendance due to his current deportation battle.
The “Wow” artist teamed up with legendary rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers for a portion of his highly anticipated performance. The group behind classics such as Californication and Stadium Arcadium accompanied the Beerbongs & Bentleys artist to perform their song “Dark Necessities."
Malone, who recently scored his third No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with his Swae Lee collaboration “Sunflower,” was forced to make last minute changes to his Grammy set. 21 Savage was originally scheduled to hit the stage with him for a performance of their chart-topping “Rockstar” collab, but couldn’t due to his pending deportation battle. In custody since last week, the “A Lot” rapper has been classified by ICE as an illegal immigrant, so he's been in a detention center since last week.
