Questlove is willing to pay Chrisette Michele if it will stop her from performing at President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration. The Roots member expressed his disappointment about reports of the talented singer joining the lineup of inauguration performers.

"I'd pay Chrisette to NOT perform 😔," Questlove tweeted today (Jan. 18).

The bill for Donald Trump's inauguration has been underwhelming to say the least with artists refusing to perform due to Trump's incendiary rhetoric throughout his campaign. Artists who agreed to perform, such as singer Jennifer Holiday and Bruce Springsteen cover band The B Street Band, have also dropped out due to the public's reaction about being involved in the ceremony. Even ardent Trump supporters like Azealia Banks have criticized the lineup for being lackluster.

Michele will join a lineup that currently includes 3 Doors Down, Toby Keith, Lee Greenwood, Travis Greene and Sam Moore. The New York Daily News reports that Michele was originally asked to perform the song "Intentional" with Jonathan McReynolds, Tye Tribbett and the aformentioned Travis Greene. McReynolds and Tribbett refused to participate. She is now scheduled to perform her own solo set.

A source close the festitivies claimed that Michele struck a deal with organizers weeks ago, but kept it under wraps because her team feared the backlash. The singer's camp's fears were justified as Michele has been widely criticized on social media since the news went public.
