Let's be honest- no one wants to grow up. But just because you have to do "adult things" and pay "adult bills" doesn't mean you can't find a few moments of joy here and there.

This weekend a new unique toy store full of old favorites opened at the Kalamazoo Mall in downtown Kalamazoo. It's owned by the same folks who have the Rocket Fizz location next door, and as soon as you walk inside their doors, you'll find yourself transported to a world full of memories of your favorite childhood days.

I found a few of my favorite toys from past (and a few new ones that make me wish I were a kid today) that you can find on their shelves today.

The Chatter Telephone

I had one of these as a kid in the late 80s/ early 90s and I dragged it around on a string EVERYWHERE. While it may not have a ton of fancy features, you can bet my future kids will have one of their own.

The Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle

This toy was ICONIC in it's day. And while many people had a hard time getting their hands on one back in the day, you can get one today. Extra tidbit: As I was walking in I saw a father telling his son that it was his favorite toy as a child, and the boy asked if he could get one too. It's not too late to share your favorite toy with your kids, even if it's not something that's showing on TV ads these days.

Tin Can Telephones

Sure, we made them out of leftover cans from dinner as a kid. These neat upgrades make an old toy feel new and fun again without resorting to using something that you have to thoroughly clean first.

Lava Lamp

Everyone loves LED lights and things that set a "vibe" in their room, but the original must have aesthetic creator was the Lava Lamp. Get in a groovy mood with this fun take on the classic 70s trend.

Tracer Bot

While not technically a retro toy, this tiny robot would make a neat gift for any creative person young or old in your life. The robot comes with a sharpie style marker that allows you to draw a path for it to follow. They also have another version that is a chameleon that will light up to match the color of the path you've drawn.

Lite Brite

Lite Brites are arguably one of the most ageless and fun toys. Give yourself or someone young in your life the gift of being able to create a special design or sign to make their space a little more fun.

Lemon Clock

There's nothing sour about this fun science based toy that allows you to make a real functioning clock out of fruit that may be hanging out in your kitchen. A perfect gift for the most curious people in your life.

Flickin' Chicken

I'm going to be completely honest- I have no idea what a Flickin' Chicken is, but I can't stop giggling at the name, so I'm sure the game is equally fun.

Dino Riders

Remember those cars that you could pull backwards and they would wind up and drive forward? Well, this is a fun take on those, it's just way more cool. Perfect for the Jurassic Park or Motorcycle enthusiast in your life.

Have a wanna be magician in your life? Want to impress people who barely understand how clear lines work? great news - this trick will blow the minds of the easily amused.

While these were some of my favorites- there's no shortage of fun gifts inside Uncle Buddy's Toy Stash. Take a trip down memory lane, or take the next generation to make some memories of their own.
