Rick Ross Reveals He’s Developing Movie Project With Gucci Mane
After conquering the rap business, Rick Ross is now ready for his close up. The Maybach Music Group honcho revealed to Page Six that he’s pursuing a movie career next.
“I am getting ready to shoot a film. I got two different flicks that I am ready to make a move on,” he says. “Me and Gucci Mane got a flick that we wrote together.”
Ross didn’t go into great detail about his collaborative movie with Guwop but he hinted that “at the beginning of the film, I am at the car wash and it will go from there.”
Ross and Gucci have appeared together in a visual project. The rap duo stars in a seven-minute-long music video for their collaborative song, “Buy Back the Block.” Ironically, the clips starts off with them cleaning cars at a car wash.
“I don’t have a release date, but I want to film it, hopefully, in three or four months,” said Ross of the independent film.
In the meantime, the 41-year-old Miami rhymer is tackling television with VH1's new music competition reality series SIGNED. The show follows up-and-coming rappers and singers as they go through a tough A&R development process with the hopes of either signing with Ross’ MMG, The-Dream’s Radio Killa Records or to Roc Nation by Lenny S.
SIGNED premieres on VH1 this Wednesday (July 26) at 9PM ET.
