Shots Fired This Morning by Local School
Police are asking for your help in finding 6 suspects who fired shots near a Grand Rapids middle school Friday morning.
According to WOOD, the shooting happened on Blaine Street off Alger Avenue south of Burton Street around 9 a.m. Shots rocked the neighborhood and surprising police since it was a day time shooting.
Apparently the young men tried to enter an occupied home with some of the young men climbing onto the roof.
Then the home invaders and the residents of the home began to fight and that is when the shots broke out with bullets flying in the direction of Alger Middle School. A Jeep that was in the line of fire took several hits.
Neighbors managed to video the crime and turned it over to the police.
Grand Rapids Police Department Sargent Elliot Bargas said, "It was a very brazen act. it was done across the street from one of our local middle schools, which I'm sure has got people in the area very upset."
No injuries have been reported and police are still investigation the incident.
