Back when Kendrick Lamar released his anthemic song and video for “Humble,” he caught some flack for his lyrics advising women what they need to do to be more attractive.

Fellow TDE artist SZA came to the defense of K.Dot in her interview with Glamour magazine. When asked about the song “Humble” and how feminists felt Kendrick was being misogynistic with his lyrics, the R&B singer completely disagreed.

“How is that misogyny if he’s supporting positive body image? I think that’s so weird, and it’s reaching," she said. "If you want to support women, you should support all shapes of women."

"There are more women who are body shamed and who are — I mean, I used to be 200 pounds, and I have stretch marks all over my body," she continued. "I find more comfort and solace with Kendrick reinforcing that I’m beautiful. I don’t really feel anything misogynistic from that.”

Meanwhile, SZA is embarking on a summer tour in support of her critically acclaimed album, CTRL. The "CTRL Tour" kicks off Aug. 6 in Richmond, Va. Joining her on the trek is St. Louis rapper Smino and Chicago-based R&B singer Ravyn Lenae.
