Tuesday, Governor Whitmer vetoed the $250,000 line item from the 2019-2020 state budget for Adoptive Family Support Network (AFSN) at D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s.

This year alone AFSN has provided services to 5,505 children and 2,127 families from 76 counties in Michigan. With this veto, Michigan’s adoptive families will no longer have the critical support necessary to keep their families together through AFSN’s ability to provide a listening ear, knowledgeable guidance, and community connections to adoptive parents and children.

Consider making your voice heard so AFSN can continue to provide this life-changing work, as they have for the last 28 years. These families need our advocacy so they can stay together and have a strong and stable future.

To TAKE ACTION now, reach out to the governor’s office and your local representative and senator by clicking on the links below. Please share with others who believe adoptive families deserve our support.

With gratitude,

Jim Paparella
