One of my favorite times in radio was working station in Dayton, Ohio back in the mid to late 90's. At the time, I was blessed to work and be taught the radio game by some legendary people like Stan Boston Tompkins, Michael Ecton and everyone I had the chance to work alongside. But, one particular gentleman was chiefly responsible for my radio career. His name is Dr. John "Turk" Logan. Back in the day, he along with others were the main characters in the story of how Funk Music (The Dayton Sound or the Land of Funk) came into commercial existence. Great acts like the Ohio Players, Zapp and Roger, Lakeside, Slave, Heatwave and countless more.

Well, I encourage you all to take a "Fantastic Voyage" this February 16th for the Grand Opening of The Funk Music Hall of Fame and Exhibition Center in Dayton, Ohio. For me, it will somewhat of a homecoming to see the people and hear the stories that made an impression in my young career at the time. Here are some details and get the "Funk" down there:
