Early Friday morning, two people were shot on the southeast side of Grand Rapids. Police are on the hunt for a suspect.

According to WOOD TV, there was an hour-long standoff on Madison Ave. near Hall St., but no suspect was located once police entered the home.

At roughly 2 a.m. Friday, police were called with a report of shots being fired in the area of Madison Avenue and Hall Street.

Officers found two men who had been shot. One, a 24-year-old man, was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition. The second victim was 27 years old but was only grazed by a bullet and was treated for minor injuries.

Police surrounded a house where they believed the suspect was hiding where an apparent party had been going on.

Police do not have a suspect in custody and have not released a description of a suspect involved in the early morning shooting.

Officers are still speaking with witnesses, trying to locate leads as they continue investigating the case.
