In August, Showtime will premiere a documentary on the late legendary singer Whitney Houston. Directed by Nick Broomfield and Rudi Dolezal, Whitney. Can I Be Me, will give fans an uncensored look inside Houston's life. The documentary will explore Houston's rise to fame, her music, personal life, and her untimely death.

The film will showcase never before seen footage that was captured by Dolezal during Houston's 1999, My Love Is Your Love world tour. The film will also delve into Houston's personal life, fans will get a chance to see intimate moments between her and then-husband Bobby Brown.

"Despite their obvious love and affection for one another, Brown’s infidelity and philandering are mentioned in the film and we see for ourselves how Houston propped him up on her tours to try and 'balance out' their relationship," Shadow and Act stated in a review during the Tribeca Film Festival earlier this year.

Houston sold millions of records, received numerous awards, had more consecutive number one's than The Beatles, and is recognized by many as "The Voice." However, with all of her achievements and success Houston struggled for many years with a drug addiction that would later take her life in 2012 at the age of 48.

Whitney. ‘Can I Be Me’ will premiere on Saturday, August 26 at 9 PM ET on Showtime. Watch the official trailer above.
