West Michigan New Year's Ball Drop
Downtown Grand Haven is about to be packed out on New Year's Eve.
Started in 2015, the annual New Year's Ball Drop tradition is returning by popular demand to Grand Haven!
According to the Facebook event page, the festive event will kick off at 9:00 PM at the corner of Harbor and Washington.
Besides waiting to ring in the New Year, Grand Haven cover band Dank Hill will be the perfect '90s and 2000s soundtrack you need to dance and sing along the night away.
If you thought that was all, you are wrong.
"Afterward, enjoy a stunning fireworks display to start the year with a bang! Take advantage of the designated social district and heated sidewalks to keep warm, but don’t forget to dress for the winter weather. This celebration is open to all ages—come join the fun!"
If you cannot attend the Grand Haven New Year's Eve Ball Drop, there are other events across Michigan for you!
Michigan New Year's Events
It would be wrong of me to not mention the Ludington New Year's Eve Ball Drop, especially since it was the number one 'Best New Year's Eve Drop' by USA Today.
USA Today shared its thoughts on the annual Ludington tradition.
"Michigan embraces the holiday spirit each year with Ludington's New Year's Eve Ball Drop, an event that takes place on the eastern shore of Lake Michigan. This festival invites Michiganders and visitors alike to kick back and enjoy wine and local craft beer as they marvel at colorful fireworks and a ball drop stage that's clad in thousands of flashing lights."
There is no reason to celebrate New Year's alone (unless you want to) with all of these different locations across the state.
- CherryT Ball Drop – Traverse City (you can watch live on Facebook)
- New Year’s Eve Anchor Drop at the Soo – Sault Ste. Marie
- Great Turtle Drop – Mackinac Island
- Allegan Ball Drop – Allegan
- Motor City NYE The Drop - Detroit
For my fellow Grand Rapids residents, there is so much to do to celebrate the start of 2025.
