The Oscars probably had its most talked about night in its history on March 27, 2022, but it was not for acting but for a bitch slap to the face of comedian Chris Rock after making a joke about actor Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith regarding her hair.

Rock said he was excited to see Jada in a potential G.I. Jane sequel referring to her shaved head. Will Smith did not find the joke funny at all especially since Jada has been suffering from alopecia which has been causing her hair loss for years.

After walking on stage and slapping Chris Rock in the face, Smith began shouting from his seat in the audience "Leave my wife's name out of your f--king mouth."

Who Would Win an Actual Fighter Between Will Smith and Chris Rock

Will Smith and Chris Rock were one-time friends and the two appeared together on an episode of the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in which Smith was the star.

You can't tell much from a bitch slap except that Will Smith has some pretty fast hands. But seeing the two in photos standing by each other, Smith definitely has the reach advantage and height advantage.

I don't imagine Chris Rock to be the one to physically attack someone, perhaps that is why he tells jokes. He looks like he might be able to run fast but his reaction time looked a bit slow from the slap he took from Smith at the Oscars.

Another advantage Smith has is his role in action movies and having lots of fight scenes. Actors often get fighting tips from top-notch fighters and coaches when doing fight scenes.

Perhaps the most advantage Smith would have over Rock in a fight was the fact that Smith played Muhamed Ali in the movie "Ali." In order to play the greatest of all time you have to get that mindset and from what I saw of the slap to Rock's face, Smith was in the Ali mindset.

The slap that Rock took to his face from Will Smith, shows Smith could take a punch so I don't think Rock would be an easy opponent to knockout. That being said, height, reach, training and angst seem to all be on the side of Smith so if the two were to actually enter the ring in a "Celebrity Death Match" I think it would be Smith by a decision after a few rounds over Rock.

Chris Rock is not pressing charges against Will Smith for the slap, but could this be so there can be a police-free re-match, only time will tell.

LOOK: 50 famous memes and what they mean

With the infinite number of memes scattered across the internet, it's hard to keep track. Just when you've grasped the meaning of one hilarious meme, it has already become old news and replaced by something equally as enigmatic. Online forums like Tumblr, Twitter, 4chan, and Reddit are responsible for a majority of meme infections, and with the constant posting and sharing, finding the source of an original meme is easier said than done. Stacker hunted through internet resources, pop culture publications, and databases like Know Your Meme to find 50 different memes and what they mean. While the almost self-replicating nature of these vague symbols can get exhausting, memes in their essence can also bring people closer together—as long as they have internet access.
