Western Michigan's Broncos could have clinched the MAC West title Tuesday night, but a weird play threw a monkey wrench in their plans.

Western was trying to secure the title with a win against Northern Illinois in DeKalb, IL when a strange play helped seal their doom.

On a night where rainy and wind was already playing havoc with the game, the Huskies got the ball leading 3-0 in the second quarter when running back Tyrice Richie took off from his own 29 yard line.

Adding insult to injury, the Broncos have opened the door for their arch rival, the Central Michigan Chippewas to win the MAC West title Friday with a win over Toledo in Mt. Pleasant.
