The 100th St. Bridge has come down, but a new one will not be going up in its place any time soon.

FOX-17 reports that the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has halted work on the project due to concerns surrounding COVID-19.

FOX-17 reached out to MDOT and Grand Region spokesperson John Richard confirmed that the bridge project is one of many that have been postponed. He told FOX,

For the safety of the public and their workers, and to slow the spread, some projects are being suspended at the discretion of the contractors. 100th Street is one of those projects.

It's currently unclear when work on the project will resume.

It's sad to see the bridge go, but at least we'll always have our memories.
