Now an internal investigation has been launched because of the incident, according to ABC News! Grand Rapids Police Department has released footage from body cameras worn by officers. They were investigating a stabbing on December 6. Grand Rapids Police Chief David Rahinsky said at a press conference that the video was "disturbing." He went on to say "Listening to the 11-year-old's response makes my stomach turn. It makes me physically nauseous. In this situation, I don’t think we acted accordingly. I think we need to take a look at everything we do because if an officer can point to policy or can point to training or point to hiring and say, 'This is what I was told, this is how I was taught, this is consistent with practice,' then we’ve got a problem." Officers were initially searching for a female suspect in a domestic-related stabbing in the Westside. The woman had fled and was still armed. The officers went to a home, where the girl and two women were located.
