A West Michigan nursing home released a statement Tuesday afternoon informing the public that thirty-one of their residents and five staff members have tested positive for COVID-19.

WOOD-TV8 reports that a statement from Paul Pruett, the Director of Operations at Mission Point of Cedar Springs (Metron of Cedar Springs) says that all of the residents and staff are from one section of the nursing home and that they have been isolated.

Two of the cases (a resident and a staff member) are currently being treated offsite.

The statement goes on to say that,

We are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety and protection of our residents, staff and community

Mission Point had previously taken steps to help slow the spread of COVID-19 including restricting visitors, guests, and non-essential personnel.
