APP shared that scammers can change their caller ID to make it look like the county police or local authorities are calling you.

Once the scammers get you on the phone, they become extremely aggressive so the person can give their credit card information or wire the money to them.

What Happens If You Actually Miss Jury Duty?

Let's run a scenario. Jury duty is an essential civic duty that everyone has to participate in, whether they want to or not.

If you miss jury duty, you may be faced with paying a fine or facing possible jail time. However, there will never be a time when prosecutors or any authorities will call you asking for money.

Most United States courts will mail you a summons explaining the current situation. They will advise you of the next steps afterward.

Here is something to keep in mind. If someone calls you and demands money, nine times out of ten, you should hang up.

If you do receive any suspicious calls, you should contact your local authorities so they can be aware and handle any ongoing situations.
