Another West Michigan Town Opens Up Social District For Drinking
You can add Spring Lake to the list of West Michigan communities that have added 'Social Zones' in their towns. These zones have cropped up as a part of the 'new normal' following the recent pandemic.

Today the village opened its 'social district' at 11am. The district will be open daily from 11a-10p and allow anyone who purchases alcoholic drinks from the designated establishments to move freely within the common areas and the district, along with the four bars/restaurants in the area.
The four establishments that will anchor the district include:
- Fuel Bar & Refuge on 228 W Savidge St.
- Stan's on 208 W Savidge St.
- Finn's Speakeasy on 106 W. Savidge St.
- Seven Steps Up at 116 South Jackson St.
The district's boundaries will be W Savidge St to the north, W Exchange St to the south, between S Park & S Division St on the west, and S Buchanan St on the east.
The social districts have sprung up as a byproduct of the pandemic when restaurants and bars struggled and outdoor dining and drinking options were at a premium. The village council approved the district back in May.
Currently, the following cities/towns in West Michigan have registered their social zones with the state:

• Cedar Springs City
• Grand Rapids City

• Zeeland City
