Beyoncé visited her hometown of Houston on Friday (Sept. 8) to lend a helping hand to those who have been affected by Hurricane Harvey.

The R&B superstar and her mother, Tina Knowles Lawson, went to St. Johns Church in Houston to speak with the people. Joining them was Bey's daughter Blue Ivy and fellow Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams.

"This today is a celebration of survival," Bey told the congregation while standing next to her mother. "Y'all are my family. Houston is my home."

"I thank God that y'all are safe; that your children are safe," she continued. "The thing that really matters is your health and your children and your family. And you got it."

In addition, Beyoncé and her mom joined Pastor Rudy Rasmus, the head of St. Johns Church, to help feed families with carry-out trays of food. Fellow H-Towner Trae tha Truth, whose been on the frontline helping survivors, was also on the scene serving food to the people.

As you may know, Beyoncé, through her BeyGOOD foundation, has partnered with Houston-based nonprofits Bread of Life and Greater Houston Community Foundation along with Texas Southern University to continue the ongoing relief efforts for the people of Houston. You can donate financially via Beyonce's official website.

Salute to Beyoncé and her family for coming through and supporting the relief efforts in Houston.
