A black cat decided he wanted to show off his running game during Monday night football.

With about 5 minutes left in the second quarter of the Giants-Cowboys game at MetLife Stadium, the feline sauntered onto the field to the delight and disbelief of fans, delaying the game.

As the cat gave chase, evading officials and security, the announcers had some gems like, "If this Cowboys season doesn't go the way it was expected to, blame that guy!"... and "He's got great lateral moves!"

Eventually it appears the cat took off somewhere on the sidelines. MetLife Stadium later tweeted that the furry guy ran off the field and disappeared under a seating section, saying, "Once we locate and safely capture the cat, we will take it to a veterinarian for examination."

Phew! I hope the game-stopping cat has been found safe and is OK!  And maybe he'll find a new home with... Cowboys owner Jerry Jones?

ESPN shares that  at first Jones feared the black cat was a bad omen, with his team trailing 9-3. But then, the Cowboys came back to beat the Giants 34-9.

Jones told ESPN,

"I haven't seen one glare at me that far away before. I know he was looking at me the whole time he was out there. But things did kind of change when that black cat came out."
