While the majority of us are loving that the warmer weather has brought us out of our cocoons it unfortunately has also brought the thieves out.

As winter starts to fade there tends to be an increase in car break-in's and that's exactly what's been going on in Ionia. FOX 17 reports that just in this past week, police have gotten six different calls, over two days, regarding people's cars being broken into. This has been a trend over the past two years.

An Ionia detective sergeant told FOX 17 that on the bright side there hasn't been any forced entry into vehicles. This means these robbers are getting into unlocked cars! While a simple concept, remember to always lock your car and take anything of value out. He also says to try not to post on social media that you're going away for vacation because this makes your home/car and valuables a target.
