Cedar Springs Nursing Home Loses 2nd Resident to COVID-19
I personally do most of my shopping at the Cedar Springs Meijer on my way home from work and it saddens me to know their community has lost another person to COVID-19.
According to WOOD, a second resident has past away because of COVID-19. Mission Point (used to be Metron of Cedar Springs, Michigan) nursing home has reported that 31 residents and 5 staff members at the home have all tested positive for the virus.
The first resident from the nursing home to pass was 66-year-old LouAnn Dagen on Saturday. Unfortunately she passed shortly after arriving at the Mercy Health Saint Mary's hospital located in Grand Rapids.
The second resident from Mission Point to pass was 81-year-old Anna L. Russell of Cedar Springs who died of COVID-19 complications on Sunday.
The 31 residents and 5 staffers from Mission Point who have tested positive for COVID-19 have all been quarantined in a special section of the property in order to protect the others who are residents at the home.
Cedar Springs, like many West Michigan communities, is a wonderful town. The people there are fantastic and for a small town they have great places to eat and shop. When things get back to normal I look forward to another visit to Cedar Springs Brewing.
Unfortunately things right now are not normal in Cedar Springs, West Michigan and the rest of the state. All we can do is continue to practice social distancing and stay home as much as we possibly can.
Don't forget those like Dagen and Russell who lost their lives to COVID-19 and so many others in our area. Pray for their families as well as all the others.
Stay safe West Michigan.
