It's not quite Thursday but how's this for a throwback? Just days after becoming a Grammy Award-winning artist, a video of teenage Chance The Rapper giving an interview with music partner J-Emcee has been found. The 15-year-old Chance talks about putting the song "Beddy Bye" together. Both the interview and the song can be found below.

"I’ver known Justin since I was 8 years old," Chance says before explaining the inspiration for song. "My dad was Barack Obama’s campaign manager for a long time and he recently moved to D.C. and I found out that I was moving too," he says of the track, a somber farewell to his hometown of Chicago. "And we wrote 'Beddy Bye' a little while ago. It’s definitely real, it was a hard song to write. I think I rewrote it 8 or 9 times."

Chance as well goes through his love of Aphex Twin, who he says was sampled on the track. Chano is currently 23, so the video interview would be about eight years old. Perhaps most striking is the angle that young Chance is wearing his hat, his straight-forward curved brim style not yet a staple.

Catch the interview below, and catch Chance on the road this spring, tickets for a new arena tour going on sale yesterday. "Thank YOU GUYS for everything," Chance wrote on Instagram while announcing the dates.
