Watch Chris Brown’s Appearance on ABC’s ‘Black-ish’
The multi-talented Chris Brown rocked his acting hat once again when he appeared in an episode of ABC's hit TV series, Black-ish, last night (March 29). During the episode, titled "Richard Youngsta," C. Breezy played the role of Rich Youngsta, seemingly a slightly parodied amalgam of C. Breezy himself and other mainstream hip-hop artists.
In the episode, Anthony Anderson's character Dre uses Youngsta to be the face of his advertising firm's campaign for a sparkling drink called UVO. Dre centers the ad around the idea that UVO instantly upgrades anything you pour it on, and has Youngsta singing and dancing throughout the ad. Although Dre is feeling the commercial, the women in his life—his wife Rainbow (Tracee Ellis Ross) and his mother, Ruby (Jenifer Lewis)—had at least a few problems with it.
Predictably, not everyone was happy about Anderson and company having C. Breezy—who's been in and out of trouble with the law for years now—on the critically acclaimed show. More than a few Black-ish fans hopped on Twitter to voice their objections to the "Privacy" performer's appearance on the show.
"@ABCPublicity Such a cynical move to feature Chris Brown on Black-ish. Its an insult to the women on the show & sends bad message to viewers," one Twitter user wrote. "I love #Blackish but if this episode isn't about domestic violence, they could literally hire anyone else to play this role," another Twitter user wrote. You can see some of C. Breezy's appearance on Black-ish for yourself below.
