While dating apps have allowed many people to find the love of their lives, unfortunately, bad people use them to harm good people.
During the days leading up to Christmas, the victim, Kevin Bacon, and Mark Latunski chatted on Grindr, a dating app for the LGBTQIA+ community.
However, that 'innocent' chat turned into a tragic and heinous murder.
After Kevin Bacon did not show up to his family's Christmas Day breakfast, they, rightfully, reported him missing.
His roommate led detectives Latunski's direction after disclosing the date set for the night before.
Shiawassee County Prosecutor Scott Koerner later shared in court that, "Kevin Bacon thought he was going to have a fun evening of casual sex with an experienced older man. They had sex and then the defendant murdered Kevin Bacon."
The court documents described how Latunski stabbed and slit Kevin's throat, hung him from the rafters with rope, and cut off a portion of his genitalia and ate it.
After his arrest, Latunski was charged with open murder and dead body disinterment and mutilation.
Due to this heinous crime, Mark Latunski was sentenced to life without parole, according to Fox2Detroit.
