Why Was This Recall Launched?
This recall has been launched due to a software malfunction.
With this software malfunction, this issue could disable the cars' electronic stability control systems.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, certain Chrysler-branded vehicles could experience a malfunction in their anti-lock braking control module.
If this happens, it could cause the stability control to fail, increasing the likelihood of a car crash.
Currently, all dealers will update the anti-lock braking control module software for customers free of charge. Dealers and owners should receive notification letters once they are mailed on July 26th.
