Dad & Daughter Die a Week Apart After Being Hit by Farm Truck
A man and daughter who were both hit by a farm truck have died one week a part.
According to WOOD, an accident that occurred in Oceana County has claimed the life of two when a farm truck veered off Webster Road, west of 72nd Avenue in Grant Township June 3rd around 9:30 p.m.
14-year-old Kaitlynn Scott and her family dog were both killed on the scene. Now her father, Eric Scott, who was also hit has died from his critical injuries.
A 57-year-old man from Rothbury was driving the truck at the time of the crash. Authorities say drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the accident, but do believe there may have been equipment failure on the truck.
So far police have determined the vehicle did drive onto the shoulder but the reason has not been discovered as of yet.
