Downtown Grand Rapids’ JW Marriott Temporarily Closes Amid COVID-19 Outbreak
The JW Marriott, an iconic part of the downtown Grand Rapids skyline, announced on Facebook Wednesday that they will be temporarily closed.
It's unclear how long the hotel will remain closed, and they have instructed that anyone with questions regarding the closure to call 616-242-1500.
The announcement comes as many businesses across West Michigan have had to close their doors to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Bars and restaurants have been closed except for the instances of delivery or takeout since mid-March.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has also implemented a stay-at-home order that has closed all non-essential businesses and urges residents to stay at home unless they must go out for things like grocery shopping or medical appointments.
