Drake and NBA Player Kendrick Perkins Get Into Heated On-Court Argument During 2018 NBA Playoffs
Drake has been known to show his support for his hometown Toronto Raptors and during Game 1 of the 2018 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals between the Raptors and Cleveland Cavaliers, Drizzy got into a heated exchange with Cavs player Kendrick Perkins.
The feud between the two started during halftime of Tuesday night's (May 1) game. As players from both teams walked to the tunnels of the arena, Drake could be seen yelling at Perkins, who began shouting back at the rapper. The argument continued after the game was over, with the two continuing to yell at each other and Drake having to be held back.
Following the game, Perkins says the feud at halftime began when he was joking with his former teammate, Serge Ibaka, and Drake butted in. "I was talking to my old teammate Serge walking into halftime telling him 'We about to win this game,' and Drake butted in talking shit to me," the NBA player told ESPN. "So I said something back to him."
While it's unclear what exactly was said by the two, journalist Bruce Arthur says he heard Drizzy call Perkins a "fucking pussy" after the game was over and called for the NBA player to come out of the tunnel. "I'm here in real life," the "Nice for What" rapper allegedly said. "He was mad," Arthur added.
Drake may want to avoid any physical altercations with the 6'10 Perkins, as the rapper is gearing up for a new record. In April, Drizzy revealed his next album, Scorpion, will release in June, with Noah "40" Shebib and Oliver El-Khatib serving as executive producers.
