Estelle has delivered plenty of memorable R&B songs including “Thank You,” “Conqueror” and of course, “American Boy.” Now the British singer will dive into a new genre with her next musical project.

On Monday (June 5), Estelle released a sumptuous reggae jam called “Love Like Ours” featuring Tarrus Riley. The Supa Dups-produced song will appear on Estelle’s new reggae album through historic label VP Records.

"It's a full reggae album," she told The Jamaica Gleamer. "I grew up on reggae. There was a lot of reggae influence in my upbringing. For me, it's as I got older, I got to appreciate it more."

On the song, Estelle affectionately sings about the love and devotion her true love gives her. "He's smilin' and that's because of me / He's happy, I want the world to see / We are livin' ever happily," she sings over smooth guitars and upbeat keyboard hooks.

Riley concurs on his verse crooning, "She's smilin' / All because of I / Yours truly keeps her smilin'," adding, "They say that love is a gamble / Well, they lost."

As for the album, Estelle says it was inspired by her parents who initially went their separate ways but found themselves back together after many years apart.

"It's a love story. It's unique. It's all the phases of romance," she explains. "It's kind of their story, the story of how [my parents] got back together. Love is love; sometimes it just takes time to come back around."

"So the album was developed from their entire perspective," she continued. "It's their story in 10 records; a tribute to their love story. They found their way back."
