Technically, it's called a 'Quinzee', a series of rooms carved out of a giant mound of snow.

Rich and Angie Haralson build the Quinzee every winter to host a party for their friends. The party features live music, lots of alcohol and of course, the cool feeling of walking into an ice house.

The Quinzee Hut was built over 8 days in the Haralson's Heritage Hill yard. This year they had to truck in 55 truck loads of snow, as well as use a snow making machine to make the Quinzee.

Full disclosure, I have been to a couple of Quinzee parties, although I missed this year. If you get invited, wear your long johns, that's my only advice.

Here's a time lapse video of the structure being built and being used to party.
