A few weeks ago I went to the Downtown Market for the first time in a while - and honestly, I'd forgotten how cool it is! My mother-in-law was in town, and we wanted to do something "Grand Rapidian", since she's not from here - and we were not disappointed at the Downtown Market! We perused the retail spaces, bought some tea and spices from Spice Merchants, and enjoyed a delicious meat and cheese plate (and wine, of course!) at Aperitivo.

First opening in 2013 at 435 Ionia Ave SW in 2014, the Downtown Market Market is a mixed-use facility that brings together local food production, education, and entrepreneurship opportunities. They've got space for 20+ vendors inside and hold outdoor events, like farmers markets and sales of vintage good in their outside space.

If you are interested in working at the Downtown Market, their job fair is this coming Tuesday, July 13, in the second floor Banquet Room 12:00pm – 4:00pm.

The open positions include line cook, server, bartender, host, cashier, retail associate, and more at the following merchants: Gaby's Gourmandise, Field & Fire, Dorothy & Tony's Gourmet Popcorn, Old World Olive Co., Slows Bar-B-Q, Spice Merchants, Tacos El Cuñado, and the Grand Rapids Downtown Market Facilities and Bartender teams.

Anyone interested should bring a resume and prepare for on-the-spot interviews.
