Weird, Wacky, And Wonderful: The 4 Festivals That Should Come To Grand Rapids
Grand Rapids has plenty of festivals throughout the year.
With one coming back, I think it is time to add a few more in the mix.

Taco & Tequila Festival
After 3 years, the Taco & Tequila Festival is returning to Grand Rapids on Saturday, May 3rd from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM!
With your tickets, you will get access to food and drink sampling tokens, a souvenir lanyard and sampling cup.
Besides the food and drinks, there will be a Jimmy Buffett tribute band, fire-breathing and juggling performances, a churro-eating contest, dad dance crew, and more.
Want early access to the tickets, you can sign up for the priority list.
Grand Rapids Needs These Wild and Wacky Festivals
With the Tacos & Tequila festival coming back, here are a few ideas for future festivals that would make Grand Rapids a must-visit destination for all festival lovers.
In honor of the Mac & Cheese Festival that already exist, I propose The Great Lakes Grilled Cheese Festival.
Who doesn't love a perfectly crispy and melty grilled cheese? From the classic cheese to wild additions like mac & cheese-stuffed grilled cheese, this festival would bring all of the best sandwich makers in the Midwest together.
Add tomato soup dunking stations or a cheese pull contest and we've got a deal!
The Lumberjack Olympics
With the outdoorsy nature of Grand Rapids, why not embrace that with a festival?
Think axe-throwing competitions, log rolling on the Grand River, and a flannel fashion show. What is not love?
The Beer & Beard Festival
In a similar fashion to the Lumberjack Olympics, it would be wrong of me to not propose a Beer & Beard Festival.
Since Grand Rapids is Beer City USA, it deserves a festival that celebrates it in a unique way.
Think beer tastings, beard styling competitions with live music. There could even be a "fastest or longest beard-growing" contest!
The Scream Fest
With the winter season, we need something to warm us up and allow us to let out pent up aggression.
This festival would be the perfect place to let it all out! Attendees would enter different areas or zones for different levels of screaming, such as the Primal Roar tent or the Breakup Yell zone, or even a Silent Scream area for those who wan to express themselves without the noise.
Grand Rapids is already a hub for creativity, food, and fun - why not take it a step further with these festivals?
