Grand Rapids Festival of the Arts is This Weekend With Lots of Food. What is Your Favorite?
The Festival of the Arts is back and alive and well in downtown Grand Rapids this weekend!. Free entertainment on multiple stages, art, and FOOD! It can be an eating frenzy because there are 16-different food booths to choose from!
So, what do you think? There is a lot of new food for the chomping, as well as old favorites. I know what I choose, beginning with this!
GREEK SOUVLAKI
Souvlaki and Baklava from the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church are back. It's been a staple at Festival for as long as I can remember with long lines waiting for that fabulous marinated meat sandwich.
BBQ RIBS AND MUCH MORE
There will be lots of BBQ this weekend, also. Uncle Wayne's BBQ and BD BBQ will each have a booth there with ribs, brisket, wings, pulled chicken, pulled pork, and baked beans, oh my!
JAMAICAN JERK CHICKEN
Jamaican food is always a hot item and The Jamaican Way will have Jerk Chicken, Curry Chicken, Oxtails, 3-Meat Combo, Rice, Plantains, and more.
KIELBASA
You can't forget Kielbasa Sandwich, Kielbasa Sandwich with Kapusta, and Perogis at the Steepletown Neighborhood Services booth. Oh, yum!
GRILLED SHRIMP SKEWERS
Ready for seafood? Grilled Shrimp Skewers, Garlic Bread, Band Bargain, Big O, and Fresh Squeezed Lemonade will all be at the Kenowa Hills Instrumental Music booth.
FRENCH FRIES AND MORE
You can't forget the Fries! Zinser Family Council Watchdogs will have Knight Fries, Garlic Parmesan Fries, Chili Cheese Fries, and Poutine.
Now that you're ready to explode, it's time for the sweet treats! There are so many choices, too.
SMOOTHIES
You'll find Strawberry Smoothie, Boba Bella Smoothie, and Peaches & Cream Smoothie at the West Michigan Asian Association booth.
GOURMET CUPCAKES
Stud Muffin's Cupcakes will have Gourmet Cupcakes, Cookies, Muffins, Donuts, and Cinnamon Rolls.
HAND MADE ICE CREAM SANDWICH
The Underground Cookie Club will be serving handmade artisan ice cream sandwiches and craft ice cream.
SEMIFREDDO
Semifreddo will have Vanilla, Chocolate, and Strawberry Semifreddo, with Seasonal Toppings.
I haven't even covered it all, but WOW!
Festival kicks off at noon today, Friday, June 3, and runs through Sunday, June 5 at 6 p.m. It's super fun so be sure to bring family, friends, whoever, and enjoy.
