Here Are 4 Things To Do In Grand Rapids To Celebrate Lazy Mom’s Day
Happy Lazy Mom's Day!
This is not to say that mothers are lazy because that is SOO untrue.
What can you do to celebrate a much-needed rest day?
What Is Lazy Mom's Day?
Every year on the first Friday of September is observed as National Lazy Mom's Day.
Cornwall Seaway News explained it perfectly.
"It's your reminder to lend a hand and give your mom a much-deserved break from her daily tasks."
It is simply a way to allow moms to kick their feet up and relax another day besides Mother's Day.
If you are celebrating this year (or just want an excuse to do nothing today), here are 5 things you can do to enjoy National Lazy Mom's Day.
Things To Do For Lazy Mom's Day
1. Go To The Movies
While you did miss the epic National Cinema Day sale, you can still go see a hit movie right now.
You can visit any Celebration Cinema, AMC, or drive-in theater. If you do not want to go outside, you can bring the movie night inside with you.
2. Grab A Good Book And Chill In The Park
As a book lover, I am always a fan of telling people to buy and read a book. You can pick one up from Barnes and Noble or my favorite independent bookstore, Schulers Books.
If reading isn't your forte, you can have a picnic in any of the Grand Rapids parks, including Lookout Park, Millennium Park, Collins Parks, Waterfront Park, and more.
3. You Can Go To A Local Cafe
The perfect start and end to a lazy day is grabbing a cozy cup of coffee or tea.
There are many local coffee shops in Grand Rapids, including Madcap Coffe, Lantern Coffee Bar, Scorpion Hearts Club, and more.
4. Take A Walk Downtown
Since we are so close to ArtPrize, taking a walk downtown sounds like a great idea.
So many of the art installations and paintings are in progress as we speak, you can get a first look during your stroll.
5. Have A Spa Day
You can always get a mani and pedi. You can even book a massage to relax today.
An even better idea is to save your money and have someone in your household help you with your spa day.
