Viral Video Alleges That Grand Rapids Restaurants Are Catfishing You
I never thought I would see the day that I would get catfished by a restaurant.
All I wanted was to order some food from DoorDash and I noticed a few restaurants I had never heard of before.
I never order from restaurants I do not know without looking them up first.
When I typed in one of the places' names, a TikTok video came up.
Katie Marble unlocked a true secret for me. Restaurants are catfishing us! To do this, they use a term called "ghost kitchen".
Have you ever heard of a ghost kitchen?
Ghost Kitchens
Kickfin says that
Ghost kitchens are essentially restaurants without the dining space. Their focus is to sell and fulfill online food orders for delivery using third-party apps like Grubhub, UberEats, and DoorDash, or with their own delivery operation. As a result, they typically have no visible storefront.
Grand Rapids Ghost Kitchens
In the TikTok video, Katie listed a few of the ghost kitchens in Grand Rapids.
So, if you see these restaurants, now you will know what they TRULY are.
Conviction Chicken and Wings is actually the TGI Fridays on Alpine!
If you are in the mood for a sandwich and see a place called The Meltdown, it's actually the Denny's on Plainfield.
Denny's seems to be catfishing a lot because they are also The Burger Den on UberEats.
If you see a restaurant called Wild Burger, it is actually Logan's Roadhouse.
Next up, if you see a place called The Burger Experience, it is actually...
...Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill.
Smokey Bones is also considered Tender Box on UberEats as well.
