Grand Rapids School Placed on Lockdown After Two Men Try to Enter With Guns
UPDATE: Both men have been apprehended without incident, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department. Grand Rapids Public School has stressed that this is a neighborhood incident unrelated to the school and school staff responded appropriately. The lockdown has been lifted.
The Gerald R. Ford Academic Center has been placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after two men allegedly tried to enter the school with guns.
WZZM-13 reports that the incident occurred just before 9:30 a.m. Wednesday near Franklin and Madison Ave. Thankfully, neither of the men were able to get into the building.
GRPD are asking people to avoid the area of Franklin and Madison.
One of the suspects has been taken into custody. Police are still searching for the other suspect. No description of the suspect is available at this time.
