Both are requiring proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID test taken within 48 hours of the performance. Unvaccinated guests under 12 must have a negative COVID-19 test taken within 48 prior to entering shows at DeVos Performance Hall and Peter Martin Wege Theatre. All guests are required to wear masks.

The Grand Rapids Ballet said in a release,

Grand Rapids Ballet (GRB) looks forward to live, in-person performances and have been diligently preparing for a return following the coronavirus pandemic. The health and safety of our staff, patrons, and community remain our highest priority. Rest assured, GRB’s leaders continue following the recommendations of government officials and healthcare experts to ensure our guests have a positive experience when attending our performances or when visiting our facilities.

A statement from the Grand Rapids Symphony reads,

Given the evolving nature of COVID-19 trends, we will continue to closely monitor CDC guidance throughout the season. Policy and procedure changes will be communicated in a timely and transparent way

Both say that to give attendees peace of mind when purchasing tickets in advance for shows during the 2021-2022 season, they will give full refunds for any tickets up until 24 hours before the scheduled performance.

Last month, two of the largest live events promoters in the US updated their COVID-19 policies. Live Nation is requiring attendees to show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test. AEG Presents is requiring proof of vaccination for fans and staff at all events.
