Herbruck's Poultry Ranch in Saranac is helping people who are experiencing homelessness by providing a hot Thanksgiving meal.

Most people are thankful for their family and to be able to get together with one another to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal, each other's company, and maybe a little football on TV. But what about the homeless?

There are a lot of people who are homeless and don't have anywhere to go for Thanksgiving. Herbruck's has partnered with Mel Trotter Ministries' to offer a free Thanksgiving community meal. The event will take place on Thanksgiving day at DeVos Place.

Not only are Herbruck's donating to help feed the homeless, but their leadership and their families are also volunteering to serve the meal on Thanksgiving.

According to Herbruck's press release, "For the Herbruck family, part of being a good neighbor means helping to combat food insecurity in the communities we serve," said Amy Herbruck, marketing and community support manager at Herbruck's. "As a child, I recall my grandfather supporting Mel Trotter Ministries, and it will be a privilege for me and my family to volunteer at the Thanksgiving Community Meal this year."

If you are unfamiliar with Mel Trotter Ministries, they serve thousands of people experiencing homelessness in West Michigan each year. They work to help people secure jobs, medical assistance, meals, and other essentials.

The Thanksgiving Community Meal volunteer list is full this year, but you can donate to help make sure another family or individual gets a hot meal by clicking here.

Herbruck's Poultry Ranch is a fourth-generation family farm based in Saranac, Michigan, and the largest egg producer in the state.
