Today it was announced that the Pfizer vaccine has been granted full approval by the FDA following its emergency use authorization over the past nine months to vaccinate over 200 million Americans.

The vaccine, made right here in West Michigan, is the first of the three approved vaccines to move beyond the emergency use stage for those 16 and older. The vaccine will now be known as Comirnaty and will remain available for those aged 12-15 under its current authorizations.

For many West Michigan residents, the final approval from the FDA may be the impetus needed to convince those that are vaccine-hesitant.

Those looking to now get vaccinated have many options in West Michigan.
